Enthralling. Intriguing. Mind-blowing These three words are arguably the best way to sum up this drama. The entire drama tells the tale of Lou Qianyi's connection with Hou Youze following an avalanche that leaves Qianyi amnesic and his attempts to discover her identity. The drama's first narrative is somewhat convoluted and intricate, which could throw your head and train of thought off. However, as the tale develops, you will eventually be able to understand the history and motivations of the individual characters, as well as the earlier events that have shaped the present. After watching a few episodes, you might subconsciously become addicted to the show because it is not sluggish! This drama, if I'm not mistaken, was originally supposed to have 40 episodes, so I'm pleased they only did 29. The ideal number of episodes is 29, and the pace is appropriate. With certain twists and discoveries thrown in, the drama fluidly switches between suspense, tragedy, and thriller. The pacing is excellent. The acting of the male protagonist is, of course, what makes this show extraordinary. Ou Hao portrayed Hou Youze, a compulsive yet pitiful individual. His acting is amazing! Through his eyes and subtle facial gestures, he was able to bring Hou Youze's part to life. While seeing his acting, I couldn't help but get a little frightened. I've seen a number of Ou Hao's dramas, and I'm impressed by his versatility. Hopefully, this will help him land more different roles in his upcoming ventures. Additionally, Victoria Song's acting has greatly improved! She did a fantastic job in two separate roles, showing how much she is improving with each drama she appears in. This drama's soundtrack and sound effects blend in seamlessly with the surroundings. The background music heightens the tension and sends your heart racing. However, I think that at certain instances, the background music was overused to the point where it seemed to be telling you how you should feel. You should feel suspense because the scene uses suspenseful background music. However, they still succeeded in keeping me tense and on the edge of my seat while watching the drama. Regarding the shortcomings, there are several scenes where it is illogical and incoherent. For instance, how is it possible for someone who recently underwent cosmetic surgery after a serious accident to appear so normal after just one month? But you will adore the drama if you don't really care about all the little nuances! Another problem is the CGI employed during the avalanche; it looked so artificial that I couldn't help but chuckle. The avalanche scene's cuts and CG do not do the storyline's quality justice. Don't worry too much though; it's only a little portion of it! The conclusion could be loved or despised. But as for me, I believe that the drama's conclusion was great! Probably one of my favorite dramas of 2021 is Lover or Stranger! It is uncommon to find a Chinese drama that adopts this genre; thus, I hope to see more Chinese dramas of this genre in the future! Try it; you might really like it!
